FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Thanks for asking!
How long have you been in the wedding industry?
I got involved in DJing and speaking immediately after graduating college in mid-2015 and have been doing it ever since. I have been working in the Industry for over 4 years now and have over 100 weddings under my belt.
Will I need to find/hire an emcee for the evening as well?
Any DJ worth their cost will be able to provide confident, professional emceeing for the evening. Conveniently, my full-time job is as a professional speaker. I am always happy to work with family members who may want to help or assist with announcements or things happening, but if hired, I always come prepared to host the evening!
Do you provide any uplighting services?
Yes! I love bringing uplighting with to help transform venues and add another layer of detail. I have a decent amount of uplighting available and for more intensive needs am happy to rent additional lights and set them up for you on the day of the event.
How extensive is your music collection? What genres does it include?
I have over 20,000 songs available offline ranging from instrumental classics to songs that won’t be popular on the radio until 2 months from now. I prefer not to use streaming services at events, but make sure to accommodate specific song requests I may not have. I have a wide array of genres and make sure to consistently download music that isn’t just music I listen to!
Do you take breaks? If so, how many and when?
Once the dance begins I will usually only run out for brief bathroom breaks. Once I start playing I don’t stop until the evening is over.
How would you define your style when making announcements?
As a professional speaker I’m wary of the DJ who holds the microphone hostage and makes it about them. I strive to be clear, eloquent, and most importantly, brief. No one is attending your event to listen to a stranger speak on the mic all night! That being said, I bring a warm presence that invites guests to participate in the evening you have put together without ever being pushy or aloof.
How much of a deposit do you require and when is the final payment due? Do you charge an additional fee for the ceremony?
I typically request a $200 deposit to secure the date, and the remainder is due on the date of the event.
I do provide ceremony services and will happily quote individuals for that cost considering ceremonies come in all different shapes and sizes.
Do you bring backup equipment?
I don’t think it’s possible for me NOT to. I typically have 2 laptops with me at every gig and bring a separate soundboard. I always bring a backup speaker should I have issues with one, and an abundance of cords should one get a short! I also always have a Costco size battery pack with me at all times to make sure everything wireless has enough juice for the evening. I’ve got the gear covered.
